Monday Mornings

I woke up with the full intention of conquering this wretched Monday morning, the one I dread every week when it turns about 3pm on Sundays.  So, I woke up extra early for work so I wouldn't be late.  Not even 5 minutes later a chain of events occurred that altered the direction of conquering victory.  I went to pee and get ready.  I flushed the toilet, then noticed that the toilet paper was still there upon flushing, and the water was filling very rapidly to the top of the toilet.  Oh man, it has to flush the second time, I thought to myself.  Nope, flushing again only made the water fill up even more, causing me to panic.  Last weekend we purchased a monster plunger from the Vietnamese grocery store, it was not as powerful as PP had promised. After plunging for 10 minutes, I felt defeated.  I just decided to finish getting ready before trying to plunge again.  Once I was finished getting ready, I plunged for another 10 minutes.  Still, no luck.  I closed the toilet and wrote a letter on a piece of white paper with a marker.  Half angry, half sad, that my biceps did no justice.  I wrote about how sucky the new plunger was, and made it clear that the toilet was previously clogged by someone who took a "massive shit".  Had to be sure everyone knew it was not me that dropped one.  I mean, I'm innocent.  I only peed!

Anyways, so far there have been numerous things that have happened.
1. The car battery died.  Causing both PP & Justin to be late for work / school.
2. They both did not have breakfast.
3. I got yelled at for things I did not do. (user error)
Can Monday be over already?

Taco Night

I've been having so much fun cooking for 3!  At times, it can be quite stressful trying to figure out affordable yet delicious meals to feed us.  As I was pondering in the grocery store, I sent PP a message asking what I should make for dinner.  About 11 minutes after I had asked the question, he finally responded!  Too late though, I had already gathered ingredients for tacos.  Luckily he wanted Chipotle.  Great minds think alike? Coincidence? Or are we just the same person?

Happy New Fathers

I know it's bad to eavesdrop, but the gentleman sitting in front of me is talking so loud. He's talking to one of his friends about how beautiful his girlfriend is after delivering their son, 6lbs and 8oz of joy. I can hear his smile through his voice without even seeing his face. It's so amazing to feel the joy and excitement through new parents. They have energy that radiates, and a special glow to their smiles.

Congratulations to all you new parents out there!
Having children is such a blessing, the beginning of a new life-- between parents and the kids. I love happy couples, but I love happy families just as much.
I hope that one day, we can have that too.

Christmas

Proudly putting our tree into the holder.

The price tag in which our name goes on came off, so we got the tree for $21 instead of $45.  Score!

Yup.  We're cute.
My beautiful "visual prop" Christmas present.  Love it <3

Christmas Brunchings

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas...

See the box all the way to the right? Yup-- It's mine!

Christmas dinner @ the parent's home!
Merry belated Christmas, world. Life has been too crazy lately. Haven't really had the chance to sit down to write anything worth reading. (Not saying this will be either)
Anyways, this year we created a lot our own traditions. Instead of purchasing a tree from the farm, we went to Home Depot for one. It was so organized! I so impressed by the service, efficiency, and the professional tree loading people. They deserve an award, for being able to make so many families happy by sending them off with a nice fragrant tree to decorate together.
Christmas brunch was at Paul Kee, Chinese food-- go figure. (Nothing else was open) It was delicious, nonetheless. Present opening happened at our place, he totally tricked me this year. The night before he had worked and I picked him up. What claimed to have been our "visual prop" (he brought a huge box saying it was being transferred to a different location, "hand carry") I didn't want an ugly brown box in the apt, so we decided to wrap it, together. So, he had a decoy (small Gucci bag with a small box). There was nothing in the box!!! Just a little card that said, "Merry Christmas! I love you!" He saw the confusion in my eyes, and directed me to our visual prop (the largest box under the tree). Which indeed was my real gift. Sneaky boyfriend.
After tearing off the wrapping paper like a barbarian, there was a huge GUCCI box inside! Layers and layers of tissue paper later, finally... The most beautiful gunmetal GUCCI bag was in there! I was really really surprised. I feel like I catch on to those things so quickly, I'm hardly ever surprised. But so far, he's always surprised me. Success.

Christmas dinner was at my parent's house. So happy that Justin (his younger brother) was able to come along with us.  The holidays felt especially warm this year. Definitely like never before. I feel like I have a family now.
Grateful for him, and the change in my life he has made.
